How Often Should You Post on Youtube

Mastering Your Youtube Posting.

By now, we all know that consistency is key on Youtube, but what does that look like? Is it consistently posting once a month, once a week, three times per week, or even daily?

We understand your confusion! There's no one-size-fits-all approach that works for every channel. However, there are some general guidelines and factors to consider when determining your posting frequency.

Firstly, you have to:

1. Be Realistic

Consider factors such as the time and resources you have available to dedicate to creating and uploading videos. Posting daily may not be feasible if you have a busy schedule or limited resources, while posting once a month may not be frequent enough to maintain audience engagement.

2. Consider Your Niche and Audience Preference

Some channels thrive with daily uploads, especially if they produce shorter, more casual content that lends itself well to frequent posting. Others may find success with weekly or bi-weekly uploads, allowing more time to create higher-quality, more polished videos, such as documentaries.

In either case, take the time to research and analyze your target audience's behavior and preferences. Look at the content they engage with, how often they consume similar content, and their expectations regarding posting frequency.

3. Experiment and Analyze

Don't be afraid to experiment with different posting frequencies to see what works best for your channel. Start by testing different posting schedules and closely monitor the impact on key metrics such as watch time, subscriber growth, and audience retention.

Use this data to inform your decisions and refine your posting strategy over time. Keep in mind that what works for one channel may not necessarily work for another, so be open to adapting and iterating based on your unique audience and content goals.

Our Strategy

Our strategy typically involves beginning testing with three videos per week or twelve videos per month. For instance, a posting schedule could look like this: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4pm.

This frequency allows for consistent content delivery without overwhelming your audience or stretching your resources too thin. It strikes a balance between maintaining a regular presence on the platform and ensuring that each video receives the attention and quality it deserves.

Of course, this is just a starting point, and we encourage you to adapt and refine your posting schedule based on your channel's specific needs and audience feedback. Remember, the goal is to find the sweet spot that maximizes engagement, growth, and ultimately, success for your channel. So, don't hesitate to experiment, analyze, and iterate until you find the posting frequency that works best for you.

Also, don’t be intimidated by thinking that you have to record videos daily. We have a section in our Youtube for Business Masterclass all about how to easily batch record to prevent burnout, along with more detail into how we launch content in the very first month of the channel.
